Puebla Government Promotes Tourism to US Migrant Communities

The Puebla state tourism secretary, Carla López‑Malo Villalón, met with Mexican Consul General Marcos Bucio Mújica in New York and later with Volaris USA sales director Fernanda Pereda and COPARMEX Puebla president Beatriz Camacho in New Jersey. The meetings focused on promoting Puebla’s new air links to Newark (and forthcoming routes to Houston and Los Angeles) as a way to strengthen ties with the Mexican migrant community in the New York‑New Jersey area.

Officials highlighted Puebla’s 12 Pueblos Mágicos and more than 60 municipalities with tourism potential, positioning the state as a cultural‑heritage destination. The outreach aligns with Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier’s strategy and President Claudia Sheinbaum’s national goal of boosting Mexico’s international tourism profile, aiming to attract U.S.‑based migrants to visit family and explore the region’s historic, gastronomic and natural attractions.
