Puebla government repairs roads damaged by landslides
The Government of Puebla is deploying machinery modules to repair roads damaged by heavy rainfall in the Sierra Norte region. Through the Secretariat of Infrastructure, authorities have successfully cleared road sections in Amixtlán, Tepango de Rodríguez, San Felipe Tepatlán, and Hermenegildo Galeana.
Work has been completed to remove landslides on the Ahuacatlán – Tepango de Rodríguez – Zapotitlán highway, specifically in the communities of Bienvenido and Ahuacatlán. Additionally, the Amixtlán – Hermenegildo Galeana stretch has been cleared to ensure connectivity. Heavy machinery remains active in San Felipe Tepatlán and Hermenegildo Galeana to address ongoing issues.
Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier is coordinating with federal and municipal authorities to mitigate damage to inter-municipal roads. Currently, debris removal is 70 percent complete on the Tepango de Rodríguez – Tlamanca Tepetzintla route and the Ahuacatlán – Zapotitlán area. Excavators and backhoes will remain on-site to respond immediately to any new incidents caused by the rainy season.
