Puebla Governor calls for stronger judicial processes to combat impunity

Puebla Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier has called on security and justice institutions to strengthen investigation files and judicial processes to combat impunity. The governor emphasized the need to prevent procedural failures that allow detained individuals to be released, a phenomenon he referred to as the ‘puerta giratoria’ (revolving door).

Armenta Mier stated that effective justice requires solid investigations and sufficient evidence to support detentions, all while maintaining strict adherence to due process and human rights. He highlighted that the state's security strategy involves continuous coordination with the Mexican Navy, the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, and municipal authorities.

The governor also acknowledged the work of the State Public Security Secretariat, led by Vice Admiral Francisco Sánchez González, and noted recent coordinated operations involving Omar García Harfuch, Mexico's Secretary of Security and Protection of Citizens. The state administration reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the national security strategy led by President Claudia Sheinbaum to combat extortion and ensure safe transit.
