Puebla Governor launches CITRAA agro‑aquaculture innovation center

The Puebla state government, under Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier, is constructing the Center of Innovation and Transformation of Agro‑food and Aquaculture (CITRAA) in the San José Chiapa area of the state. The 22,574 m² complex will include a processing plant, storage facilities, machine rooms, an internal circuit, parking, access roads, green zones, sidewalks and security booths.

The project is designed to serve more than 6,200 local residents, processing large quantities of dehydrated fruits and vegetables and producing high‑nutrient amaranth bars to improve regional food security. It is presented as a major social and agricultural impact initiative that aligns with national policies promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum, aiming to modernize Puebla's agriculture and boost human development, health and prosperity.
