Puebla hosts culinary event to support Cáritas elderly care
The gastronomic experience ‘Nogada en el Cuexcomate’ will take place from September 4 to 6 at the Cuexcomate volcano in Puebla, Mexico. The event aims to raise funds for the Cáritas Puebla foundation to support more than 60 elderly residents.
The culinary event features a six-course menu centered on the traditional chile en nogada, accompanied by pairings. Participating chefs include Michelin-recognized Ángel Vázquez and nomadic chef David Marcial.
Tickets are priced at 3,500 pesos per person, with capacity limited to 35 people per day. According to Javier Alejandro Rodríguez Calva, director of Cáritas Puebla, the monthly cost to care for each elderly resident is approximately 25,000 pesos, covering food, medicine, clinical studies, and personal care.
