Puebla implements new measures to combat screw-worm infestation

The Puebla Municipal Slaughterhouse (Rastro Municipal) has announced new preventive measures to combat the screw-worm infestation. Official José Ángel Minutti stated that these actions aim to protect public health and mitigate sanitary risks posed by the pest.

The infestation is considered a significant threat to the agricultural sector due to its potential impact on the quality of food intended for human consumption. To address this, the slaughterhouse has implemented a surveillance and control system to monitor raw animals before they are commercialized, ensuring rigorous supervision of supply chains to maintain food security.
