Puebla investigators probe two recent corpse discoveries in Huejotzingo and La Resurrección

Authorities in the Mexican state of Puebla are investigating two separate corpse discoveries. On Thursday, a severely decomposed male body was found in agricultural land on Carrizos Street at the border of the Primer and Segundo barrios of Huejotzingo. Police and the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) of Puebla secured the scene, but the victim’s age, identity and cause of death could not be determined due to the advanced state of decay. The body was taken to the regional forensic facility for a necropsy.

A few days later, a second body was identified as 23‑year‑old bricklayer Luis Gilberto, who had been missing since 25 July. He was discovered in the La Resurrección colony, wrapped in a blue‑black blanket and accompanied by a threatening note. The FGE has opened a homicide investigation, noting that the victim had previously received threats. Both cases remain under active investigation.
