Puebla launches digital inspection system for SMEs

The Government of Puebla has launched the Sistema Empresarial de Inspección Digital (SEDI), a free and voluntary digital platform designed to modernize labor supervision. Rather than focusing on punitive measures, the system emphasizes prevention, guidance, and technical assistance to help businesses comply with labor regulations.

In its initial phase, the program has incorporated 160 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across 14 municipalities. The participating sectors include commerce, professional services, hospitality, restaurants, consultancies, gas stations, and private security companies.

Víctor Gabriel Chedraui, the Secretary of Economic Development and Labor, stated that the technological tool aims to provide legal certainty and facilitate compliance, which are essential elements for fostering investment and economic growth in the region.
