Puebla launches Mujeres Imparables initiatives for women
The municipal government of Puebla has implemented two distinct initiatives under the ‘Mujeres Imparables’ (Unstoppable Women) framework to support women through social aid and economic empowerment.
Through the second edition of the Mujeres Imparables race, the Secretariat of Women distributed 476,350 pesos to four civil organizations. These funds, collected from 3,000 participants, were allocated to various social causes: Fundación Cáritas de Puebla received 180,000 pesos for breast cancer survivor prosthetics; Benvenuto XXI A.C. obtained 120,000 pesos for violence prevention workshops; Yo’on Ixim A.C. received 100,000 pesos for indigenous women and children; and Construyendo Mis Alas A.C. was granted 76,350 pesos for educational materials and food for adolescent mothers.
Simultaneously, Mayor Pepe Chedraui led the second edition of the Mujeres Imparables Prize, which doubled the number of beneficiaries from the previous year. Fifty female entrepreneurs received financial support to strengthen their businesses, including 30 prizes of 20,000 pesos and 20 prizes of 5,000 pesos. These funds are intended for raw materials and machinery. The program follows a series of training workshops designed to foster self-employment and economic autonomy among women in the city.
