Puebla Mayor announces Desafío Puebla by La Vuelta España 2027

Puebla Mayor Pepe Chedraui has officially presented ‘Desafío Puebla by La Vuelta España 2027’, an international cycling experience inspired by one of the world’s most recognized races. This event marks the inclusion of Puebla Capital into the ‘Desafío México by La Vuelta España’ circuit, following previous editions in Ensenada and Morelos.

The initiative aims to combine sporting challenges with the cultural richness and tourist attractions of the host city. Officials expect approximately 1,000 cyclists and 1,000 bicycles to participate in the event. Chedraui emphasized that the competition is intended to position the capital as an international reference point while generating employment and economic benefits for local tourism.

Charles Leon Fernand Ojalvo, Deputy General Director of La Vuelta España, and Ramón Neme Sastre, President of the ‘Desafío México’ Council, expressed support for the initiative, noting its potential to develop cycling in Mexico and attract significant tourist influx to the region.
