Puebla municipal leaders unveil free cultural weekend and intensified pothole‑repair program

The government of Puebla city, under mayor Pepe Chedraui and the Instituto Municipal de Arte y Cultura directed by Anel Nochebuena, organized a series of free cultural activities for the weekend. Highlights included the "Viajando con Timoteo" exhibition at the Palacio Municipal Art Gallery, a football‑themed display titled "90 minutos," an evening concert by singer‑songwriter Javier Díaz, outdoor folk dance performances at Parque Sendela, a French‑film cycle at Museo Amparo, and a Varieté de Verano showcase on Sunday, along with creative workshops at the Capilla del Arte UDLAP.

At the same time, the municipal government of San Pedro Cholula, led by president Tonantzin Fernández, launched the "Bachetón 2026" program, the most intensive pothole‑repair effort in the town’s history. Three repair modules operated simultaneously in San Juan Tepoxco, Santiago Mixquitla, and San Juan Tlautla, addressing deteriorated streets. Fernández said, "the inconveniences are temporary, but the benefits are permanent," and residents thanked officials for improving high‑traffic streets such as 5 May.
