Puebla official arrested for murder of activist Josué Martínez

Puebla Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier announced the arrest of Javier “N”, the auxiliary president of San Lucas Atoyatenco, in connection with the murder of activist and content creator Josué Martínez.

Martínez, director of the fanpage Noticias San Martín Texmelucan, was killed on July 16 near his home in San Martín Texmelucan in the presence of his son. The Governor stated that the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) conducted a month-long investigation to gather sufficient evidence, dismissing claims that the arrest was a rushed attempt to create a “scapegoat.” The case remains under judicial process to determine the legal status of the detainee.
