Mexican municipalities launch youth sports and cultural programs
In San Andrés Cholula, municipal president Lupita Cuautle presented the official shirt and medal for the second edition of the "Corre por las Juventudes" race, scheduled for Sunday 23 August with 3‑, 5‑ and 10‑km routes and an expected 2,000 participants. The event is part of the International Youth Day celebrations and aims to promote healthy lifestyles among young people.
The same municipality also opened a call for residents aged 18‑25 to compete in the "Representante Cultural y Turístico San Andrés Cholula 2026" contest, which will select a youth representative for 2026‑2027.
In Saltillo, mayor Javier Díaz González’s Youth Month featured a successful boxing exhibition titled "Juventud por las Buenas" and announced upcoming activities such as the Municipal Youth Award, a Gaming Cup, and a Youth Mural.
The city of Puebla concluded a four‑week summer course for 100 children aged 6‑14, focusing on environmental education, emotional pedagogy and sports, under the direction of municipal president Pepe Chedraui.
San Pedro Cholula hosted the 2nd Pan‑American Junior Frontón Cup, an international youth tournament with delegations from Argentina, the United States, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile and Mexico, highlighted by municipal president Tonantzin Fernández.
