Puebla Prosecutor pledges to prevent criminal ‘revolving door’
The Puebla State Attorney General, Idamis Pastor, has committed to preventing the ‘puerta giratoria’ (revolving door) phenomenon, ensuring that criminal investigations are properly integrated to prevent detainees from being released due to procedural errors.
This commitment follows statements by Governor Alejandro Armenta regarding the seriousness of police work and the need for justice. Pastor highlighted close coordination with various levels of government and security Secretary Omar García Harfuch, noting that these efforts have led to the arrest of mayors involved in crimes such as transport robberies.
Recent security operations in Puebla resulted in the arrest of Juan Lira, known as ‘El moco,’ who is allegedly linked to extortion, homicide, and illegal deprivation of liberty.
