Puebla selected as host for UNESCO International Conference on Learning Cities
Puebla Capital has been confirmed as the host for the Seventh UNESCO International Conference on Learning Cities. The event is tentatively scheduled for June 2027.
The conference will bring together representatives from 425 cities worldwide to discuss global educational challenges and opportunities. A central theme for this edition is “Learning cities in the era of artificial intelligence: towards inclusive digital urban futures.” Participants will analyze how to leverage artificial intelligence and technological innovation to expand learning opportunities and support the sustainable development of communities.
Mayor Pepe Chedraui announced the selection following a video call with members of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities and the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL). Puebla will be the second Mexican city to host this event, following Mexico City in 2015. The designation is intended to highlight the city's capacity for international logistics and its commitment to education, social inclusion, and sustainable urban development.
