Puebla social initiatives focus on digital literacy and public health

Researchers at BUAP are analyzing the impact of social media on public opinion and civic participation. Specialist Martín Rodrigo Echeverría Victoria emphasizes the need for digital literacy and regulation to combat misinformation and polarization, noting that while platforms self-regulate certain content, progress in Mexico and Latin America remains cautious.

In Puebla, the state government has implemented several social initiatives. The Secretariat of Women and the Institute of the Poblano Indigenous Peoples organized a comprehensive day for indigenous women, providing health services, legal orientation, and employment training.

Additionally, Ceci Arellano, president of the SEDIF Board, led the distribution of medical equipment and supplies valued at over 7.4 million pesos. This equipment is destined for five hospitals, including the Hospital General del Sur and the Hospital de la Niñez Poblana, to strengthen local healthcare capacity.
