Puebla State Government inaugurates University of Health campus in Tepexi de Rodríguez

The Government of the State of Puebla has officially opened a new campus of the University of Health of the State of Puebla (USEP) in Tepexi de Rodríguez. The project, aimed at bringing medical and nursing education to the youth of the Mixteca region, involved an investment of approximately 131.9 million pesos for the construction and equipment of the first two development stages.

Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier stated that decentralizing higher education helps reduce inequalities by allowing students to pursue professional careers without leaving their communities. The regional campus currently has an enrollment of 290 students, including 31 in high school and 259 in higher education programs. Among the university students, 188 are studying Medicine and Surgery, while 71 are enrolled in Nursing and Obstetrics.

The campus is designed to be developed in four stages to further expand its capacity and support the medical development of the Mixteca poblana region.
