Puebla State Reports 3.1% Q1 Growth and Announces Major Industry Expo
The government of Puebla announced that the state economy grew 3.1% in the first quarter, driven by an 8% rise in manufacturing, a 4.13% increase in retail sales, a 4.96% jump in goods for sale, and a 24.6% surge in construction activity. Export figures also continued to rise year‑on‑year.
Secretary of Economic Development and Labor Víctor Gabriel Chedraui presented the fourth edition of the Expo Mexico’s Industry Supply Chain, scheduled for 12‑13 August at the Puebla Expo Center. The expo will bring together national suppliers and major industries such as automotive, electronics, metal‑mechanical, textile, plastics, machinery and services, aiming to strengthen supply chains, attract investment and create jobs. Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier highlighted the initiative as part of a broader strategy to boost the state's industrial ecosystem, while CAPIM president René Mendoza Acosta said the event will position Puebla as the North‑American hub for industrial business.
