Puebla to Host Two Major International Conferences in 2026

The city of Puebla will hold the International MEXTESOL Congress from October 22‑24, 2026 at the Centro Expositor. The event, focused on English language teaching in Mexico and Latin America, expects more than 2,500 researchers, teachers and businesspeople from 20 countries and 25 Mexican states. Local officials anticipate an economic boost of over 13 million pesos and demand for roughly 1,500 hotel rooms per night.

Puebla will also host the 11th International Museum Meeting in November 2026 at the UPAEP campus. Museum directors will discuss challenges such as artificial‑intelligence tools, climate‑change impacts, budget cuts and digital preservation, aiming to keep museums vibrant while embracing new technologies. Mexico counts over 1,000 museums nationwide, with more than 50 in Puebla, and the conference seeks solutions for the sector’s future.

Both events are positioned to raise Puebla’s profile as a destination for high‑level academic and cultural gatherings, delivering professional development for local educators and museum staff while generating tourism revenue.
