Calpan’s Feria del Chile en Nogada kicks off with 130,000 dishes and new digital platform
The municipality of Calpan in Puebla will host the 23rd edition of the Feria del Chile en Nogada starting 1 August, featuring an expected sale of 130,000 servings of the traditional dish. Organizers project an economic impact of more than 50 million pesos for local cooks, artisans, producers and service providers. The fair will involve 36 traditional women cooks, 73 certified artisan houses, and a cultural program that includes folk ballets, the Voladores de Cuetzalan, and a delegation from Oaxaca’s Guelaguetza.
A digital platform presented by the municipality of Zacapoaxtla aims to promote the Ruta Gastronómica del Chile en Nogada, providing online tools for visitors and participants. Local officials, including Subsecretary José Miguel Vélez R. Moreno and Mayor Vicente Sánchez Méndez, highlighted the event’s role in preserving culinary heritage and boosting tourism in the region surrounding the Popocatépetl volcano.
