Puebla's culinary festivals expected to attract 31,000 visitors and generate over 2 billion pesos

The 14th Feria del Molote will be held in San Pedro Cholula from July 10‑12 at the Plaza de la Concordia. Twenty veteran cooks will present traditional molotes and gourmet versions—including chile en nogada, seafood and bacalao—priced between 50 and 200 pesos. Municipal president Tonantzin Fernández said the fair aims to promote local gastronomy and boost tourism, projecting more than 31,000 visitors and an economic spill‑over exceeding 10 million pesos.

Separately, Puebla’s chile en nogada season, running July 1 to September 16, anticipates the sale of 4.45 million dishes in 2026 at 250‑600 pesos each. Tourism secretary Carla López‑Malo Villalón indicated this will generate an estimated 2.082 billion pesos in revenue, a 5.18% increase over the previous year, benefitting farmers, cooks, restaurateurs, hoteliers and merchants across municipalities such as Tlahuapan, San Martín Texmelucan and others.
