Puente Alto family alleges negligence after woman dies at Líder supermarket

The family of 26-year-old Nadia Acevedo is alleging negligence following her death on August 28 at a Líder supermarket in the Puente Alto commune of the Metropolitan Region.

The incident occurred as Acevedo was leaving the establishment with her partner's family. Following a mobile phone theft involving another young woman, Acevedo reportedly suffered a medical emergency and collapsed on the exit ramp.

Family members, including her sister Jocelyn and her partner's mother Adriana Tobar, claim that supermarket staff and security provided inadequate assistance. They allege that security guards were unresponsive to pleas for help and that a family member, who is a nurse, had to request and use the facility's automated external defibrillator (AED) due to delays by staff. Furthermore, the family criticized the perceived lack of immediate medical attention and reported that several hours passed before her body was removed from the premises.
