Puente Próceres project reaches 80% completion in Lima

The Puente Próceres infrastructure project, designed to connect the districts of San Juan de Lurigancho and El Agustino over the Rímac River, has reached approximately 80% completion. The project, valued at S/ 89.9 million, spans 1.62 kilometers along the Próceres de la Independencia avenue.

The construction includes two new 91-meter bridges, one for each direction of traffic, intended to complement the existing Chinchaysuyo and Pirámides del Sol bridges. The initiative aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve mobility for more than 200,000 residents. Beyond the bridges, the work involves road signaling, traffic lights, pedestrian stops, walkways, and the development of green areas.

Due to its location over the Rímac River, the project incorporates preventative measures to mitigate risks associated with the El Niño phenomenon. Lima Mayor Renzo Reggiardo recently inspected the site to verify progress and emphasize the importance of the infrastructure for regional connectivity and disaster preparedness.
