Puerta Logística del Bajío to begin construction in 2027

Construction for the Puerta Logística del Bajío, a major multimodal infrastructure and industrial park project in southern Celaya, Guanajuato, is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2027. Project Manager Óscar López Rivera announced the timeline during a presentation to the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC).

The project aims to become a primary logistics hub for central Mexico by integrating road, rail, and maritime transport to optimize national and international supply chains. The development includes grain and container terminals, customs services, financial services, and supply chain technology.

According to the project schedule, the first terminals are expected to be available within 12 months of the start of construction, with the full logistics node completed within 18 months. Full operations are slated to begin in 2028. The project has already secured land ownership, pre-validation from the Railway Transport Regulatory Agency (ARTF) for rail connections, and authorization from the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM) for the customs section. Additionally, four letters of intent have been signed with anchor clients.
