Puerto Armuelles pier construction inspected by AMP and IDB

The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) conducted a high-level technical mission to inspect the construction of the Multipurpose Pier in Puerto Armuelles. Led by AMP Administrator Luis Roquebert and IDB Panama Director Gloria Lugo, the delegation evaluated the project's progress and its potential for future expansion.

During the inspection, specialists reviewed road connectivity, the logistical capacity of the surrounding hinterland, and conceptual designs for expanding the port platform. The mission also included a visit to a local palm oil processing plant to assess the potential for exporting goods and importing port services directly from the Barú district.

The initiative aims to integrate maritime infrastructure with regional agro-industrial supply chains to boost economic development in the Chiriquí province and revitalize commercial activity along Panama's Pacific coast.
