Puerto Cabezas entrepreneurs recognized for preserving traditional trades

In Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, 19 entrepreneurs were recognized during a ceremony held at the Municipal Auditorium. The event was part of the “Patria Querida: Reconociendo Nuestros Oficios Tradicionales y Gastronómicos” plan, which aims to honor those preserving traditional trades and culinary arts.

Participants included individuals specialized in gastronomy, artisanal baking, sculpture, tailoring, fashion, shoemaking, and shoe shining. Local officials noted that these entrepreneurs contribute significantly to both family income and the municipal economy. The initiative also serves to promote local businesses and share the cultural value of traditional products with the community, helping to maintain the history and identity of the North Caribbean region.
