Puerto Colombia recovers 5,082 square meters of public land

The Mayor's Office of Puerto Colombia has announced the recovery of a 5,082-square-meter lot that had been granted to a private individual in 2017 during the administration of former mayor Steimer Mantilla Rolong.

The land, located near the Tecnoglass Sports Center and the Alutions plant, was originally provided to the municipality by Cementos Argos in 2011 for the exclusive purpose of creating a green zone. Mayor Plinio Cedeño stated that the administrative act allowing the transfer to a private citizen was revoked via Resolution 0450 on September 14, as the property was intended for public use.

Legal actions are underway to annul the titles registered to the private owner. The municipality intends to use the recovered land for urban projects, including roads, parks, and green spaces. A separate legal dispute continues regarding another 33,637-square-meter plot.
