Puerto de la Cruz awards contract to transform Cine Chimisay into cultural center

The Puerto de la Cruz City Council has awarded a contract worth approximately 5.3 million euros to the company Capross for the transformation of the former Cine Chimisay into a new cultural space. The project includes preliminary studies, project drafting, and the execution of works.

The renovated facility will feature a central auditorium designed for approximately 450 spectators, equipped with a stage box suitable for theater, music, audiovisual performances, and conferences. The design includes technical walkways and advanced lighting, sound, and scenography systems.

Key architectural updates include the creation of a triple-height central hall, a new central staircase, and a panoramic elevator to visually connect the different floors. The lower level will be converted into a versatile area for exhibitions, receptions, and workshops using configurable mobile panels. Other improvements include dressing rooms, specialized loading areas, and a scenic freight elevator to connect the three levels of the building.
