Regional authorities in Chile and Argentina implement security and safety measures

In Chile, the Maule Regional Council has approved an investment of approximately 1,150 million pesos to strengthen municipal security across 30 communes. The funds, part of the Plan Maule Seguro, will allow municipalities to implement technological tools such as automatic license plate recognition (LPR) systems and security cameras to enhance crime prevention.

Additionally, in El Chaltén, Argentina, the City Council has passed a resolution demanding the urgent creation of emergency protocols and evacuation plans. This measure follows scientific warnings regarding the risk of a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) caused by potential landslides on Cerro Solo, which could trigger an avalanche affecting the local area.

In Molina, Chile, 37 sports clubs have been awarded funding through the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR) to support various disciplines, including football, cycling, and taekwondo, helping to offset public budget constraints.
