Puerto Juárez prepares for Janal Pixán festival with 25,000 visitors expected

The municipality is finalizing preparations for the Janal Pixán festival, scheduled to take place over four days from October 30 to November 2 in the Puerto Juárez delegation. The event will feature a 600-meter corridor stretching from El Puerto de los Suspiros beach to the Quintana Roo Integral Port Administration (Apiqroo) facilities.

Approximately 160 vendors offering regional food and crafts will participate. To prevent the price gouging reported in previous years, the Direction of Commerce and Public Services will deploy eight permanent inspectors to monitor the gastronomic corridor. Vendors are required to display prices clearly and maintain health licenses. Cultural activities will include an altar contest and theatrical performances, such as ‘Los Pasos de los Abuelos’.
