Puerto Madryn authorities investigate death of three whales

Three whales—two males and one female—were found dead at various points along the coast of Puerto Madryn. The carcasses were located between the Primera Bajada, near the Monumento a la Mujer Galesa, and the Quinta Bajada.

Specialists from the Centro Nacional Patagónico (CENPAT) have arrived on-site to collect samples. These analyses aim to determine the cause of death and investigate whether the deaths were the result of strandings.

An operational response is underway involving park rangers and police, who have established security perimeters to manage crowds of tourists and residents. Heavy machinery is being utilized to remove the large carcasses from the shoreline. Authorities have advised the public to stay away from the animals to ensure safety during the mechanical removal process and to allow scientific work to proceed without interference.
