El Mante and Puerto Morelos approve property tax relief

Municipal councils in El Mante and Puerto Morelos have approved fiscal stimulus programs to assist residents with property tax regularizations.

In El Mante, Tamaulipas, the council unanimously approved a 100% discount on surcharges, execution costs, and collection fees for property tax debts. This measure, presented by Mayor Patty Chío, is applicable to payments made between November 1 and December 23, 2026. The relief focuses strictly on late fees and does not include a reduction of the principal tax amount.

In Puerto Morelos, Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz announced two discount periods: the Buen Fin Discount Session from November 3 to 30, 2026, and the Ahorrando Pagando session from December 1 to 31, 2026. These programs offer a 100% discount on fines from previous years for vacant lots and residential homes. The benefit excludes taxpayers with active legal defenses against municipal tax resolutions.
