Quintana Roo leaders advance local social and legislative initiatives

Various political and social developments are occurring across Quintana Roo and Morelos. In Playa del Carmen, Mayor Estefanía Mercado led a “Chambamanía” event in Galaxia del Carmen I, providing over 50 free services and medical attention to local families. Additionally, Mercado participated in a gala dinner at Hotel Xcaret Arte to raise funds for the Cruz Roja Mexicana (Mexican Red Cross) to support its operations in Playa del Carmen and Tulum.

In Cancún, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa invited youth aged 12 to 29 to participate in the creation of the Law of the Rights of Young People through an official microsite. Meanwhile, in Puerto Morelos, Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz met with IMSS officials to discuss strengthening health services and social security for municipal workers.

Other regional updates include the approval of water service municipalization by residents of the “Los Sabinos” system in Apatlaco, Morelos, and the presentation of Deputy Jorge Sanén’s second legislative report, which highlighted 79 total initiatives and extensive community outreach.
