Puerto Morelos to host Caribbean Mexican motorcycle rally
Puerto Morelos is set to host the ‘Rodada por el Caribe Mexicano’ on August 20, expecting between 50 and 100 motorcyclists. Participants are traveling from various Mexican states, as well as the United States, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
Organized by Miguel Ángel Lira, president of L.A.M.A. Capítulo Cancún, the route begins in Cancún and passes through the hotel zone, the Nichupté bridge, and the Luis Donaldo Colosio boulevard before heading toward Puerto Morelos via federal highway 307. The journey will continue toward the Ruta de los Cenotes and Leona Vicario.
Local authorities, including the Secretariat of Sustainable Tourism, have coordinated with civil protection, fire departments, and security forces to ensure safety for participants and residents. Karina Vázquez Díaz, Secretary of Sustainable Tourism, noted that the event aims to diversify tourism segments and promote local attractions like the cenote routes.
