Puerto Plata enhances tourism with renovations and upcoming industry fair

Puerto Plata is enhancing its tourism infrastructure through both urban beautification and industry networking. Mayor Diomedes Roque García has officially reopened the Paseo Doña Blanca, also known as ‘Callejón Rosado’, following renovation works. The project, which included painting and aesthetic improvements by artist Alex Jiménez, aims to improve the experience for cruise passengers, international tourists, and local residents.

In addition to infrastructure updates, the region will host the second edition of Aventúrate RD 2026 from September 1 to 3. The event is expected to bring together over 300 tour operators, including 200 international and 100 national participants. Held at the Hotel Marién, the fair will feature business rounds, specialized panels, and networking sessions designed to connect Dominican tourism providers with major global and domestic markets.
