Puerto Plata Golf Club hosts record 152 players for 51st Copa Rotativa

The 51st edition of the Copa Rotativa at the Puerto Plata Golf Club is set to host a record 152 players. The tournament, which begins on Saturday, August 29, and concludes on September 5, honors long-time club member Fernando Ortega Brugal, known as “Don Nano”.

Competing under a stroke play format, the event is open to golfers with handicaps ranging from 0 to 24. A major highlight of this year's competition is Jorge Fernández, the winner of the 50th edition, who is attempting to become the first player in recent years to win the trophy in consecutive years and join an elite group of six historical bicampeones.

Juan Antonio Morales, president of the Puerto Plata Golf Club, noted that the tournament has regained the prestige it held during the 1990s. The event is officially sponsored by Casa Brugal and Blue Jacktar.
