Dominican political parties expand territorial structures

Political organizations in the Dominican Republic are actively expanding their territorial structures ahead of future elections.

In San Francisco de Macorís, the País Posible party, led by Milton Morrison, swore in 543 new members, including community leaders. The party aims to move from its current seventh-place position to among the top four national forces by 2028.

Simultaneously, the Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM) is seeing shifts in local leadership. In El Seibo, Mayor Leo Francis Zorrilla Ramos has joined the political project of Tourism Minister David Collado. In Puerto Plata, Mayor Diomedes Roque García and his team have also expressed support for Collado's leadership. Additionally, a sports-focused support structure for Collado has been formed by Alberto Rodríguez, featuring various national athletic figures.

Internal PRM dynamics also show movement within the Women's Front in Santo Domingo Norte, which recently reorganized its local leadership. These developments occur as political figures like Tony Peña and Carolina Mejía continue to position themselves within the party's landscape.
