Puerto Plata reports three fatalities in separate traffic accidents

Three men died in separate traffic accidents across the Puerto Plata province.

In the first incident, 28-year-old Ronaldo Pitta died after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle on the Sosúa-Cabarete road near the Playa Encuentro curve. Witnesses reported he was traveling at high speed and suffered a skull fracture upon impact.

The second accident occurred on the Puerto Plata-Navarrete highway, where 62-year-old merchant Esteban Rafael Cruz Cid was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a trailer truck. An unidentified passenger traveling with Cruz Cid was injured and transported to a medical center.

The third fatality involved 27-year-old fisherman Félix Alejandro Mejía Paulino, who died following a collision between his scooter and a BMW on Manolo Tavárez Justo Avenue. Preliminary reports suggest the BMW was being driven by a military officer. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding all three incidents.
