Puerto Real launches new guided historical and maritime tours

The Puerto Real Tourism Department has launched two new guided walking tours starting September 1. These itineraries are designed to highlight the local history and maritime connection of the municipality in the Bay of Cádiz.

The first tour, ‘Ruta Puerto Real y el mar’, focuses on the town's relationship with the sea. It lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes and takes participants past the El Gallinero neighborhood, the Mercado de Abastos, the San José Cultural Interpretation Center, La Cachucha beach, and the fortified pier.

The second tour, ‘Ruta Torcuato Benjumeda’, is dedicated to the architect Torcuato Benjumeda. This one-hour route includes visits to the exterior of the Mercado de Abastos, the San José Church, the San Sebastián Prioral Church, and the fortified pier.

Both tours are limited to groups of ten people and require reservations. The visits to the Mercado de Abastos are co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
