Puerto Rico announces additional PAN nutritional assistance payments
Suzanne Roig Fuertes, secretary of the Department of the Family, announced that participants of the Nutritional Assistance Program (PAN) will receive an additional payment of approximately $46.78 per person. These funds, totaling $56,827,034, consist of unused emergency reserves from 2025 and are scheduled for distribution through Saturday, September 26.
This follows a previous disbursement of $272,936,167 in surplus funds from fiscal year 2026, which was distributed between September 4 and September 22. That disbursement provided an additional benefit of roughly 39 percent of the regular amount per participant.
Additionally, the Family Socioeconomic Development Administration (ADSEF) is launching a process to authorize merchants to accept online payments via the Family Card. Following federal authorization in Puerto Rico, interested establishments can seek guidance from ADSEF starting September 26 to meet certification requirements.
