Puerto Rico promotes tourism through culinary heritage and TLC partnership

Puerto Rico is highlighting its cultural and culinary identity through tourism initiatives and local traditions. The island’s iconic Piña Colada, originally created by Ramón ‘Monchito’ Marrero at the Caribe Hilton in 1954, remains a central part of the local experience. Modern mixologists, such as those at the James Beard Award-winning bar Identidad, continue to evolve the drink with contemporary recipes.

In a separate promotional effort, Puerto Rico’s tourism authority has partnered with TLC to launch the ‘Hunt for Love’ sweepstakes. The giveaway celebrates the second season of the show ‘90 Day: Hunt for Love,’ which is set on the island. Two winners will receive a prize package valued at nearly $5,000, including round-trip flights, a four-night stay at La Concha Resort, and various dining and adventure experiences designed to showcase the island’s culture and gastronomy.
