Puerto Vallarta beach conditions and weather report

Puerto Vallarta is experiencing varied beach conditions and weather patterns. According to the Direction of Civil Protection and Firefighters, swimming is strictly prohibited at three locations: the mouth of the Cuale River, the mouth of the Pitillal River, and Playa Marina Vallarta. These areas are marked with red flags due to dangerous conditions or purple flags due to the presence of harmful marine life.

Seven other beaches, including Palmares, Conchas Chinas, Olas Altas, Los Muertos, Burros, Camarones, and Playa de Oro, are under yellow flags, advising swimmers to exercise caution. The recorded swell is approximately 50 centimeters.

The region maintains a semi-warm, sub-humid climate influenced by the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Pacific Ocean. During the winter, temperatures typically range from 17 to 27 degrees Celsius, a season that also sees humpback whales migrating from the Arctic to the area.
