Puerto Vallarta launches municipal internationalization plan
The municipal government of Puerto Vallarta has launched its Municipal Internationalization Plan, titled ‘Nuestra Ciudad de Puertas al Mundo’ (Our City of Open Doors to the World). Developed over eight months with technical assistance from Colombian specialists PMO Latam and the Colegio Mayor de Antioquia, the roadmap aims to strengthen the destination's global presence and attract foreign capital.
The strategy is built upon five core pillars: international positioning through global marketing, municipal diplomacy to foster alliances with international organizations, enhanced connectivity via expanded air and sea routes, the attraction of foreign investment, and the promotion of sustainable tourism.
Mayor Luis Ernesto Munguía González and Tourism Director Alejandra Cornejo emphasized that the plan serves as a territorial planning instrument to manage resources from international bodies and ensure coordinated growth between the public sector and private industry.
