Puerto Vallarta recovers from hurricanes amid ongoing red flag warnings

Puerto Vallarta is beginning to recover following the passage of two consecutive tropical hurricanes that brought heavy rains and minor infrastructure damage to the coastal region. While local authorities and civil protection agencies continue cleaning and monitoring main streets to restore economic activity, the weather is gradually stabilizing.

Despite the improving weather, high surf conditions have triggered a continuous nine-day red flag warning across all municipal beaches. The Dirección de Protección Civil y Bomberos de Puerto Vallarta has urged residents and tourists to avoid entering the ocean due to dangerous waves. Recent incidents include the rescue of a man at Playa Camarones and a previous incident where a tourist was swept away at Playa de Oro.
