Puerto Vallarta residents rescue mother and child after car swept away by floodwaters

A woman and her approximately five-year-old daughter were rescued by neighbors in Puerto Vallarta after their vehicle was swept away by heavy rain-induced currents. The incident occurred on a Saturday evening near the intersection of Alemania and Lázaro Cárdenas streets, between the Villa de Guadalupe and San Esteban neighborhoods.

The driver, traveling in a blue Nissan Sentra, was caught in a strong flow of water that displaced the car for approximately one and a half blocks toward a storm drain leading to the Pitillal River area. Local residents tracked the vehicle and located it stuck near a bridge on 20 de Noviembre Street.

To reach the occupants, bystanders broke the vehicle's rear window. The mother and child were extracted safely and, despite the trauma of the event, did not report any physical injuries.
