Puerto Vallarta resumes tourism and flights after Hurricane Simon

Puerto Vallarta has resumed normal tourism, transport, and airport operations following the departure of Hurricane Simon. The Government of Jalisco reported no damage to hotel infrastructure or tourist establishments, describing the situation as a “saldo blanco” (no casualties or major damage).

The Puerto Vallarta International Airport, which had been restricted to official aircraft since Saturday, fully reopened for commercial flights on Tuesday. The Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) advised passengers to verify flight statuses directly with airlines as schedules are being restored.

Land transportation, including bus services and highways connecting Puerto Vallarta to Guadalajara, is operating normally without reported damage. While hotels, businesses, and public services have resumed activities, authorities noted that beaches in Jalisco maintain precautionary measures, such as red flags, and recreational tours are returning gradually.
