Puerto Vallarta tourist found dead after falling from boat
The body of a 28-year-old tourist from Monterrey, identified as Fernando Cháirez, was recovered in Puerto Vallarta after he fell into the sea from a tour boat.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon as the vessel, named Naviero 1, was docking at the ASIPONA piers. Reports indicate that while attempting to disembark, Cháirez reportedly slipped and fell into the gap between the boat and the pier.
Following the accident, several individuals from the boat jumped into the water to attempt a rescue, but were unable to locate him. A large-scale search operation was launched involving the Mexican Navy (Secretaría de Marina-Armada de México), Civil Protection, and local firefighters. After nearly 24 hours of searching, including diving operations and boat patrols, lifeguards located his body in the water near the accident site on Monday afternoon.
