Puerto Valparaíso launches cruise season with 25% increase in arrivals

The 2026-2027 cruise season has officially commenced in Puerto Valparaíso with the arrival of the MS Fridtjof Nansen, operated by HX Expeditions. The new season is projected to see a 25% increase in arrivals compared to the previous cycle, with 30 scheduled arrivals through April of next year.

Mayors Camila Nieto of Valparaíso and Macarena Ripamonti, along with port authorities, led the welcoming ceremony. Officials noted that the increase in cruise traffic is expected to boost the local economy, support the tourism sector, and generate employment within the Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, and Concón areas.
