Puertollano hosts II Educando en valores congress for 800 students

Approximately 800 secondary school students from Puertollano and Almodóvar del Campo gathered at the Municipal Auditorium for the II Educando en valores congress. Organized by the Desde Siempre para Siempre Foundation, the event aimed to provide young people with tools to navigate personal and social challenges through discussions on emotional development, coexistence, technology, and affective-sexual education.

Mari Ángeles Martos, president of the foundation, described the congress as a “toolbox” for the future of the youth. Puertollano Mayor Miguel Ángel Ruiz welcomed the participants, emphasizing the importance of learning from mistakes, managing daily problems, and the value of solidarity and perseverance. He noted that the sessions cover essential life skills that are not typically found in academic textbooks.

The program featured various speakers and performers, including National Music Prize winner Antonio Domingo, singer Luis Muñoz, and artist Eva Vega. Additionally, athlete Sarah Almagro shared her personal journey of overcoming health adversity to become a successful para-surfing competitor.
