Puertollano renovates historic Fuente de los Cinco Caños
The Puertollano City Council has completed maintenance and improvement works on the Fuente de los Cinco Caños, a historic monument located on Cañas Street. Built in 1901, the fountain was a vital water supply point during the first half of the 20th century, particularly for residents in the city center who lacked indoor plumbing.
The recent intervention included painting the fountain's facade and interior, as well as refurbishing the artistic iron fence and the gates that secure the site. This follows previous improvements made to the monument in 2018, 2021, and 2024, the latter of which included the installation of high-power, low-consumption LED spotlights to enhance nighttime visibility.
